Why Some People Win and You Don't?

Do you ever look around and wonder why some people seem to get all the breaks? The truth of the matter is, God has a plan for each one of us. He doesn't have favorites. {unless you understand that we're all His favorites; just like with my kids...neither Kennedy or Boston are my favorite, they're both my favorites and wonderful in their own way} This is the same way with God. You are His and you're wonderful in your own way!

Let me give you six practical ways to help increase your understanding of and walking in the blessing and favor that God has for you, to help you become unstoppable. (run-on sentence...my trademark)

  1. Flow in who you were created to be: So many people look around at others and try to be somebody else. Stop it! God doesn't need another one of them! He needs one of you, that's why He created you. {1 Corinthians 12 speaks of this}Flow in your strengths. Allow your individuality to shine. Just be the best you, that you can be. Which leads us to our next point.
  2. Pay the Price: Many people don't want to pay the price, they just want everything handed to them for free. Guess what, it doesn't work like that. It's been said that every overnight success was twenty years in the making. If you want progress, growth and favor in your life you have to pay the price. Spiritually speaking, if you want to go to another level of intimacy and anointing with God, you have to pay the price in prayer, fasting and the Word. There are no shortcuts.
  3. Be Obedient: In Genesis 22 we see God calling Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac. So what did Abraham do? In verse 3 it says that he got up early to obey what God told him to do. Obedience leads us to a place of blessing. Do not delay either. Learn from Abraham.
  4. Walk in Faith: This looks like taking chances. In Matthew 14 we see Peter getting out of a perfectly good boat to walk on water because Jesus said "Come" Obedience led to what appeared to be taking a chance, but cmon Peter was never really in danger because Jesus "had him." Take A Chance!!!
  5. Be a people person: How many times have you heard the phrase, "it's not what you know, but who you know." It's so true. The Kingdom of God is all about relationships. You may say, "I'm not a people person." Maybe you are more introverted, but that doesn't let you off the hook from being in relationship with people. You may, just may have to allow God to stretch you in this. {wouldn't that be horrible, jk} Seriously though, you never know who God is going to use to open a door for you. And if you isolate yourself, you could miss what God has for you.
  6. Finish Strong: One of my favorites lines in scripture is found in 1 Kings 20. King Ahab {not known for his great moral character or spiritual leadership} actually uttered this great line. In verse 11 it says this...The king of Israel answered, “Tell him: ‘One who puts on his armor should not boast like one who takes it off.’ BAM. Take that. Here's what I know...a lot of people start a lot of things, fewer though actually stay the course and finish what they start. Don't be one of those people. Don't just finish either, finish strong.
I finish with a verse from the New Testament... Philippians 1:6 For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.

God isn't through with you...do your part, He will do His to make you UNSTOPPABLE!
